I’m just on a big Rizzles kick, and damn, I need to get this out. It’s probably mostly incoherent rambling, so bear with me.

So I try not to get too emotionally invested in TV shows. I really do. But in some cases, I fail miserably. Exhibit A: Castle. Most recently, Rizzoli and Isles has taken hold of me.

When I first heard of this show, I seriously thought that the two lead characters were romantically involved… I was surprised when I found out they actually were not. Now, thanks to Tumblr and all the posts about their obvious lesbian tendencies, I’ve become addicted. Honestly, I started shipping these two before I started watching the show because the gifs and photosets and quotes posted around here just made them out to be such a couple. Finally, after “Sailor Man,” I gave in and started watching, and I caught up on all the episodes in about a week.

My observations are as follows.

Sasha and Angie have extraordinary chemistry, are clearly very comfortable around each other, and are real-life friends. Good friends, at that. WHY waste that by not having Rizzles be canon? I don’t think kiss scenes or anything of that nature would be a problem, considering how much they invade each other’s personal space behind the scenes.

I NEVER ship slash. Never, never, never. I am in no way homophobic- I have two very good friends who are gay. It’s just that these pairings never happen, so I don’t see the point. Rizzles is the first slash pairing I’ve ever shipped because they are just nearly IMPOSSIBLE for me not to ship them. They are just. so. adorable.

If us fans aren’t going to get the ultimate payoff by seeing these two together, then cut back the subtext. I’m someone who doesn’t like to be led on, so either we’re reading into this too much or the subtext can’t even be called subtext anymore because it’s so damn obvious. Seriously. Just make Rizzles canon.

It’s the #1 cable show. There is a great LGBT fanbase, from what I understand. I think Rizzles will only help the ratings. Haters gonna hate, but I would imagine the millions of people watching now wouldn’t be watching if they didn’t think there was some chemistry between Jane and Maura. I don’t see the harm.

Grey’s has Calzona. Hell, Modern Family has Cam and Mitchell. Glee even has gay couples. It’s 2011, guys! Let’s embrace the gayness!!

Besides, Sasha said that Maura is open about her sexuality.. Hmm. Let’s do it.

How many adult, female, single women do you know who have sleepovers, have fights because one is jealous that the other has a boyfriend, are willing to do ANYTHING for the other, touch each other constantly and grab each other’s asses in completely sincere fashion, let the other’s mom stay at their guest house and spend time with said mother, undress in front of each other on a regular basis, have eye-sex like no one ever has, stare at the other’s boobs, go up and bluntly tell the other’s mom that she’s hurting her daughter’s feelings and she will kick ass if she doesn’t fix it, and alter very expensive clothing (SHOES NO LESS, which Maura loves) so that the other is comfortable?!! NEED I SAY MORE?

I’m just saying. A lot of people want it. This is the gayest non-gay show ever. In the best way. Seriously. We. Want. Rizzles. Give it to us.
